Josh’s 10th Birthday

On April 20th and 21st we celebrated Josh’s 10th Birthday.  Josh celebrated first at school with a giant cookie, then after school several of his friends came over for a sleep over and trip to Funset Blvd.  Once everyone arrived we loaded up and drove to Appleton to Funset Blvd.  Everyone was excited and they quickly piled out.  We enjoyed pizza, soda, and cake.  Then it was off to play.  The kids enjoyed miniature golf, bumper cars, games, and lots of laser tag.

Finally, at 10pm we dragged the kids away from Funset Blvd.  As they loaded into the car one of the kids realized he did not have his cell phone.  He was in an utter panic about losing his cell phone.  Of course, he had yet to memorize his phone number.  After several phone calls we found the number and started calling it.  With great disappointment we realized that it wasn’t in the car where he swore he had left it.   I sent Dave back into Funset with two boys to search in the room we had been in.  Alas it was not there.  Then I thought about the ball pit.  We were all delighted when a balls started vibrating and the phone was found.

Snack Time
We arrived home at 11pm.  After feeding snacks to the boys, we headed upstairs and left the group of 8 boys in the living room.  In the morning the boys enjoyed cinnamon rolls.  They left just in time for Josh to head to baseball practice and then to the birthday party of another friend. Once that party was over it was time to come home to celebrate his birthday with our family.

We quickly realized at dinner that Josh may have overscheduled himself on his birthday weekend.  He was falling asleep at the table.  We sent him upstairs to his room to lie down, and the rest of us hung out until he had finished a nap.  At that point he had enough energy to eat his ice cream pie and open his presents.
