Creation Museum

We left on vacation on December 21st and headed to Indianapolis, Indiana.  Having worked on Friday and the boys had school we left in the afternoon.  We arrived late to Indiana especially since we lost an hour changing to Eastern Time.  The push was worth it as it gave us lots of time to explore the Creation Museum the next day.
We headed to Kentucky and the Creation Museum on December 22nd.   On our way we passed from Indiana to Kentucky to Ohio and then back to Kentucky.   We arrived late morning and were ready to explore.  When we entered the museum we were greeted with a fish pond that also had some neat turtles in it.  We were thankful for the glass that separated us from the most poisonous frogs on earth.

Next we headed through the museum.  We learned about dinosaurs, creation, and the great flood and Noah’s Ark.  After exploring the museum we had a quick Lunch in the café and then headed in to watch two shows in the planetarium.  Next we went and saw a show called “Men in White”.  When Noah’s Ark was being shown we were splashed with water.  The dinosaur steps vibrated our chairs.  Needless to say we all enjoyed the show.  That evening was the special Christmas program.  We saw the start of it, but decided that with all of the people we needed to head out.
We finished our day with a five hour drive to a hotel just south of Nashville.  It was fun to pass the Titan’s stadium in Nashville, knowing that the packers would be playing (I mean creaming) them in Green Bay the next day.

On December 23rd we made the last leg of our trip to Gulf Shores.  We stopped at the boarder of Alabama and checked out the Rocket and did a geocache.  Arriving after dark did not slow the boys from checking out the beach with Papa while we unloaded two carts of junk from the car.  It is amazing what can fit into the van!
