Blessed

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Tonight was one of those nights that the words I sang hit me.  I have to admit that sometimes I sing a song mindlessly.  Just as I sing the song mindlessly, I sometimes live my life mindlessly.  Forgetting that every blessing is from God, I often forget to turn back and praise.  In the times of darkness I forget to praise and most of all I forget to turn to God.

I am so thankful for an opportunity to spend the next three days with my family in an environment where we can grow together in our faith, while having fun.  It is such a blessing to see the difference in our boy's lives just in the three years we have been coming to camp.

It is fun to watch Josh get excited to request a song and then jump up to do the motions.  Ryan has taken the responsibility to introduce our family in front of the whole camp.  He has gotten it down to a professional introduction with a confidence that many adults would envy.  And yes, it is even a blessing to have to sit in the front row, because the boys are eager to participate!

So as I start this weekend, I turn back and say "Thank you Lord for giving me a great family and the time to spend with them at Camp Luther."
