Ryan's 8th Birthday

On July 1, 2013 Ryan will turn 8.  We decided to have his birthday party early this year, as many of his friends are gone the week of July 1st due to the holiday.  Ryan had debated between a backyard party and going someplace.  In the end he had decided to do Build A Bear and Monsters University at the theater.  This party was more elaborate than our normal parties but since Ryan normally had parties at home we decided he was due for a party elsewhere.
It turned out to be a good thing that we did not choose the backyard party, as I ended up having surgery the weekend before his party.  I was very thankful for two dear friends who came and helped with the party.  Since I am on a lifting restriction and supposed to be taking it easy, I wasn’t much help!
The kids arrived at the party at Build A Bear.  Every child was able to pick out a bear or dog of their choice.

Once the animals were picked they road on their new owners heads to the stuffing station!

Everyone closed their eyes for a surprise!

Flying hearts were the surprise!

Time to help the bears be smart, and kind

Now make a birthday wish Ryan!

Time for a bath!

Getting Sully dressed

Look at all those cute animals (I mean the stuffed ones)

After Build A Bear we walked over to the theater for Monsters University.  Rosi, Caryn and I walked over first and saved the spots and put the popcorn our for the kids.  Then we had the kids sit in the lobby and sing happy birthday to Ryan and eat cupcakes.  Finally is was time for presents.  Ryan enjoyed all his gifts.  We finished up just in time to head into the movie.  It worked out perfect.  We couldn't have timed it better if we planned it.

Julie gets her student ID!

Now it is Brigit's turn.

Josh is almost to tall!

Andrew is a little short.

Josh helps Andrew!

All the kids ready for the movie.
