Spring Break - Shenandoah National Park

On Monday, we decided we would sleep in, but at 9am the resort called us to make sure we were enjoying our stay and asked if we like to listen to their timeshare presentation for a gift of $100.  I assured them that I would not and that I also thought 9am was way too early to call vacationing people!
The boys went out to play and as they left Rosi and I both said “Don’t get wet, by the creek”.  Not ten minutes later a dripping Ryan arrived back with Josh.   The first trip over the log that lay across the stream had been successful; the second trip was not so successful.  So Ryan changed into dry clothing and we set his second pair of shoes out to dry.
We headed out to run some errands and explore Harrisonburg, VA.  We enjoyed a nice lunch at Ruby Tuesdays and then headed down to the visitor center in Harrisonburg.

At the visitor center we enjoyed watching a video on the civil war fights that occurred in the Shenandoah Valley and learning about the history of the area.
Then we headed up out of the valley into the Shenandoah National Park.  We were disappointed to learn that the visitor centers do not open for the season until March 30th, but we enjoyed how quiet the park was.  We had downloaded the Junior Ranger Book and so we began working on it with the boys as we traveled around the area.

After dinner at the Condo the boys and I went swimming in the resorts Olympic size pool.
